Been playing with fasting for some time. I do a 22 hour fast daily (dinner only), and recently did a 3 day water fast. Biggest thing I notice is how much time slows down. The day feels so much longer when not broken up by breakfast/lunch/dinner. Any one else have this experience? - Jack Dorsey
While the last post was about Intermittent Fasting this one is about a Three day water fast I did back around 3 months ago. In a three day water fast, you must drink only water for 72 hours. No solid food or other liquids that contain nutrition (like fruit juice, milk, etc) are allowed. It’s just drinking water during a timeframe of three days and eating nothing.
To answer the quote from the beginning. I experienced kind of the same that nearer you get to the end of fasting the day feels longer.
Other points from my experience:
- We shouldn’t take food for granted
- The desire for food was partly really big
- Recommendation to do it over the weekend. Friday morning to Monday morning. And also just try to stay at home to not be confronted with the smell of food
- Try to avoid commercials. The desire only gets bigger when confronted with commercials about food
- Productivity and focus time on the second day was bigger as usual
- Reminded me to be patience
- Reminded me to be disciplined
- Felt a little dizzy on the third day
- Some headache on the third day
- Could clearly hear my heartbeat while reading a book
- My skin was at the end completely clean
- Had more energy then usual in the gym two days after the end of fasting
- Energy level stayed increased for the next couple weeks
- Did the mistake to just start with my normal food plan on Monday morning. Should’ve have started slowly because the body was already not used to eating the normal portion and the stomach kind of hurt
- Gratitude for food pops up almost every time in my mind when I have a meal until today
