If you search for “music and sports” via a search engine you’ll find probably results about how music will improve your performance. I agree with that when you’re running in a competition and you want to boost your last lap with your favorite motivation song to eventually push yourself to the limits. But since my personal goal isn’t becoming the fastest in a marathon or doing the most pull ups for a world record, I just don’t need any music while doing sports. Others even say

I even don’t use any device to track my progress. For that I just use pen and paper especially for the gym workout, for running I don’t track at all. The main reasons for not listening to music in my routine are:
- I’m just not that focused on my exercises because the music distracts me e.g. I don’t like a current playing song so I skip to the next one, the next one and so on…
- To have time to stay away from my phone and the distractions of the Social Media Slot Machines
- I don’t need to compare my progress to the current years, because it’s the past
- Running, Workout in the gym along with Meditation and Reading help me to keep my mind free from all the Happiness everywhere someone tries to sell you
